Gatto Gatto - Orvietano Rosso D.O.C.
name of this wine is inspired by the medieval battlecry of the warlord
Gattamelata and of his garrison, who took possession of the Castle of
Montegiove during the late XV century. Gatto Gatto is produced from a
blend of the traditional Umbrian varieties Sangiovese and Canaiolo with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon
and is Mis en Bouteille au Château.
It is a realtively young wine maintaining a
fresh and fruity character after a light aging on large oak casks and
older barriques and tonneaux. Brilliant ruby red colour with purple
and it appears vividly fragrant yet also suave and enveloping. It
compliments most culinary occasions and does not require strict
matching. To be served with hors d’oeuvres, cheese, cured meat, first
dishes, poultry and fowl.
